It is usually a good sign when a software company gives you the ability to download and use their product before you buy it.  After all, if you are not happy with the product during the trial period, you are not likely to buy it.  Some companies provide full use of their software for a limited time while others offer trial software with limited functions.

When you download Artisteer, you get the full featured software program.  The only restriction is that when you publish a Joomla template created with Artisteer, or an Artisteer WordPress theme, or any of the other templates, they contain watermarks that cannot be removed.  In addition, another feature you will not have access to when you download Artisteer for a free trial, is the ability to save templates created.  This only recently became the case, but I suppose they realized that they needed to stop this, so there were not teams of website developer creating templates and them just publishing on one computer, with a single license.

Regardless, it is very nice when you are able to test out software for an unlimited time, to make sure it fits your needs, before make the investment.  The only drawback, in my opinion, to the Artisteer download policy is that since you have full functioning software, with no time limits, there are no refunds allowed.  In fact, you may see an update or two, during your trial.  I have noticed it seems like they update the software every few months, which is definitely a plus.

Therefore, the bottom line is, get a free download of Artisteer, test it out for as long as you like, practice with it and make sure it does what you need, before you pay your license fee.
